What is Laser Cutting

Laser cutting is a process used to cut through many materials. It consist of using a computer controlled, high voltage, focused laser beam to "vaporize" the material and then a pressurized gas, (air, oxygen or high pressure nitrogen) to blow the vaporized material away from the cut. Similar to an oxy torch, but the cut is much finer and much more accurate.

At JR we are capable of cutting practically any 2D shape out of materials including anything from paper, polycarbonate plastics, MDF and other wood, aluminum, stainless steel, leather, acrylic plastic, mild steel, and more.

Computer Controlled (computer numerical control also known as a CNC)

A CNC is basicly a computer "controller" that reads G-code instructions and drives the laser cutting machine. This means if you want 10 of, 100 of, 1000 of, or 1000000 of the same item (e.g. attachment plates, etc.) they will all be identical size and shape and we also keep the G-code program so if you need the same plate in six months we can recut it to the exact dimensions of the first part/s.

If you can draw it on paper we can cut it out of practically anything you want. There are some limits to material thickness and hole sizes. To find out more about prices please contact us.
